Let's go back to basics

Being engaged means you are committing yourself to spending the rest of your life with your one and only True

The days leading up to your official wedding day may be clouded with the constant stress of wedding plans and ideas. Thus, the true meaning of being engaged falls away, becoming a mere formality of your promise. In order for you to find the true meaning of being engaged, you need to take a few steps back and evaluate the situation. There are many fun things to do as an engaged couple and with a little twist, you can even learn a thing or two about your betrothed! Forget the selfies – do a photoshoot The constant selfies you post all over social media of you and your fiancé may be cute, but why not give it that something extra and opt for a professional photoshoot?

Not only will this be an unforgettable experience as an engaged couple, you’ll also have a few awesome photos to add to your album to show your kids one day… The “no wedding talk” games Planning your wedding can be time-consuming and may even make you forget what is most important at that very moment. Spending some time with you fiancé while making the “no wedding talk” rule at the order of the day will give you some time to simply enjoy being engaged. A blissful afternoon in the park or a candle-lit dinner at a romantic restaurant could be just what you need! But remember, no wedding talk! Going out to paint the town red Staring at four walls all day while in the company of your soon-to-be husband or wife isn’t the best way to start the adventure of a life together. Open the front door and go places you both love! This includes horseback riding, ice skating, picnicking, going to a shooting range as well as fishing. It’s important though, when going out, you need to take the other party into consideration as to what goes and what doesn’t… A day at the gaming arcade or a ballet performance may not be of everyone’s liking, but that is the only way you’ll get to know what your better half likes and dislikes. . Grow a garden, grow love Being engaged is all about growing together as a couple. With a lot of patience, trust, love and respect, your relationship will grow into a beautiful and prosperous marriage. Just like a garden needs water, nourished compost and sunshine, your relationship needs TLC. The best way to truly understand how precious it is to grow a strong relationship is to learn from nature. Grow a garden together; it need not be a vegetable garden, it can be a patch of lilies or roses. By giving your garden the TLC it needs as a couple, you are not only doing something fun together, you are learning about growth! Camping out in the back yard Who said kids are the only ones who can camp out in the back yard?

This is yet another great way for engaged couples to add a little spice to their relationship! Imagine a clear sky filled with thousands of stars while you rest your head on your soon-to-be’s chest. You take a sip of the champagne you picked out for the romantic evening under the stars and suddenly, a shooting star lights up the night! “Make a wish, my darling!”… A bucket list of to-do’s If you’re feeling a little adventurous, make a bucket list of all the things you want to do as an engaged couple before the day of your wedding. Remember that this does not include picking out a wedding dress or having a bachelor party. These are the things you want to show your darling love and the places you want to take him or her before you walk down the aisle. Some ideas may include going to a drive through movie theatre or taking long strolls through magical forests filled with promises! William Shakespeare once said, “When I saw you, I fell in love and you smiled because you knew.” Falling in love is easy but if you’re in it for the long run, you need to make sure the engagement phase of your life together forms the foundation of a great marriage. So what are you waiting for? Enjoy engaged life!
